In Western Culture the divorce rates are so high. Why is this so? From things I've seen on TV and from what I've heard from some people, divorce usually happens for selfish reasons. They have it better off when in a relationship. What do you feel are good reasons for divorce? Would you mind explaining if you feel that there isn't any reason? I would think that violating marriage with abuse, rape or cheating is much more disrepectful than divorce. I think most marriages that end in divorce are truly over long before the paperwork was done.

What legal reason should I list on the forms for the divorce? FYI, This is another question to go with my last question about this same situation. I married him while he was in prison. MY MISTAKE! He did two years, got out, did the 1/2 way house thing, then we tried to do the normal married couple thing and and live together, that lasted 3 months. My wife is pregnant w/ second child, threatning to divorce me for bogus reasons.? My wife is pregnant with our second child. Now I've heard of crazy families down south where parents are nuts but my wife is (well...was) a normal and loving mother before a few weeks ago. Out of nowhere, she told me she was going to divorce me if our next child turned out to weigh more than 6 lbs at birth. Our last baby was 8 and change (which to my knowledge, is healthy) and we even had a discussion how we were both appreciative towards the our first child's birth health. Now she is claiming that because of me- our baby is going to become obese and if our coming child is more than 6 lbs, she will file for divorce and leave me with the kids. She grew up with weight issues but it's never come to light in such a bizarre manner...I'm perplexed. The worst part is her MOTHER SUPPORTS HER 100%! She refuses to get help and usually throws something at me if I suggest it. She made me sleep in the guest bedroom. My therapist says wait it out...but she's only 4 months in! 5 more months of this?!

Questions about divorce reasons? Ladies, and there are a few men who have responded, and thanks for all your input. I have been married to the same man for 35 years and we could not have a better marriage, a hotter sex life and great communication..His wake up call to me was honest, he did not cheat, he was simply waking me up to the fact the I was not fulfilling his needs. Mine were not being met either, and sex is one of most improtant issues of a good marriage. It is what keeps a couple close and in communication. Even Dr. Oz on Oprah show says that married couples should be having sex 3 times a week...it is the action that brings forth the reaction of bonding and communication.
