What mistakes can be avoided in divorce?

1. well that is a big tough question. first do not represent yourself. Second do not hire a lawyer unless they are a family law attorney third do what the lawyer tells you
2. the main is not to have an extra marital affair to avoid divorce
3. Try not to use a lawyer..... big mistake.
4. Be sure you use an attorney!!!!!!!!! even if it is the same attorney for both of you. My ex and I did not.We used forms off of the web, and submitted them. The divorce was granted. We did not split our estate -- kept everything joint, since neither of us was leaving to marry anyone else. Each of us remained beneficiary to the other. (fair was fair) Mistake. We got a divorce without a property settlement. He died. Now the whole thing is in court. And other people in his will for a percent, are now suing me!!!!!
