War on Divorce

 

i need any helpful tips on filing for divorce in Missouri?

we dont have any kids, money or house so i think it should be easy. we both agree and he said he would handle it but im not trusting him. i dont want to wait and then he not do it. so i thought i'll prepare for it in case he doesnt. i just want it to be quick and over with. i dont need any lawyers or anything. anything tips would help.

  1. you can do a joint petition for divorce in MO. there are very specific forms that you need for your state. its all pretty easy as long as you have the correct forms and you file them accordingly... best of luck!

To start an action for a dissolution of your marriage, you must: File a petition, which is the initial pleading that tells the court who you are, who your spouse is, where you were married, and other things about your situation. You must include EVERYTHING listed in the statute AND it must be signed by you and your signature notarized. Section 452.310.2 File a Family Court information sheet, in most counties, known as a "Form 17". Cause the court to issue a summons, a paper telling the other party that the case has been started and giving them basic information about the case and a copy of what you filed. Section 452.311. Pay a filing fee, which is generally set by the local rules of the circuit court in which your case is filed.
